hats – opening night
Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones hosted its opening last night at the Queensland Art Gallery. Vogue Australia editor Kirstie Clements flew up from Sydney to attend, and there were of course a host of hat-loving Brisbane women there. It really was a wonderful sight seeing the array of hats that were worn, in particular those by Brisbane designers Gail Sorronda, Paula Walden and Alexandra Harper (Alexandra is also privileged enough to be the only Queenslander to have a hat displayed in the exhibition), their hat creations are so unique and true examples of the amazing design talent we have in Brisbane. You can purchase their hats at the Hat Salon at the exhibition.
The exhibition itself is remarkable. There are over 250 hats on display, with some dating back to the seventeen hundreds. From hats worn by Mick Jagger and Darth Vader, to hats by Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior, and of course many by the amazing Stephen Jones. It really must be seen to be believed. Make sure you check it out in the coming weeks at the Queensland Art Gallery. Click here for more info.
