mercedes-benz fashion festival brisbane 2010
The 2010 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane program was officially launched last week. Kicking off on Friday 6 August and running to Friday 13 August the festival will celebrate the arrival of the spring/summer collections with 10 group shows showcasing 46 local designers, 13 national designers, 23 international designers and some of Brisbane’s leading boutiques – including Easton Pearson, Frock Shop, Paul Hunt, Pistols at Dawn, George Wu, Akko and La La Latrobe.
Staged in a new location at South Bank’s Cultural Forecourt, the line-up will be showcased in a purpose-built marquee with tiered seating and a 30 metre runway. The Queen Street Mall will also host free parades and events every day at various locations and centres.
Plus there will be a number of interesting talks and workshops at the Queensland State Library, such as ‘Couture – is it still relevant?’ and ‘The Current State of Contemporary Australian Fashion’.
