subfusco store & fall 2010 collection launch

Posted in Autumn Winter 2010, Brisbane Designers, Events by brisbane on June 10, 2010

Wednesday night was the store and fall 2010 collection launch for Brisbane label Subfusco. The boutique, on Ann Street in Fortitude Valley, showcases the label’s fashion-forward mens and womens wear within a light, cool space – think white brick walls with silver accents. And the new collection fits in perfectly with the decor, we are loving this white sequin cape from the latest collection. Check out their blog for more pics from the night and to spy on the new collection …

beau coops in-store now at violent green

Posted in Autumn Winter 2010, Elizabeth Arcade by brisbane on May 24, 2010

If you are ever after accessories that are different from the norm, than may we suggest you make a visit to Violent Green at Elizabeth Arcade. This great boutique has been around for years now and never disappoints with its fashion-forward clothing labels on offer such as Chronicles of Never, Ksubi and Karen Walker, but you may be surprised by the large range of jewellery, shoes and handbags on offer as well from designers such as Melissa, Jordy, Beat Poet and of course Beau Coops.

We bring your attention to Beau Coops because it really stands out as a shoe label that offers a unique take on women’s and men’s shoes that you won’t find at many stores in Brisbane. Designed by Londoner Carrie Cooper, who has designed for Alexander McQueen, Beau Coops shoes are made in Italy and represent a lifestyle of comfort, quality and style. They are designed to weather the storms of fashion fads – and that’s why we love them!

Check out the Violent Green blog for comprehensive updates on what styles are available in-store –

Gail Sorronda Autumn/Winter 2010 – Black Chalk

One of Brisbane’s most innovative young fashion designers, Gail Sorronda, will showcase her Spring/Summer collection at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week this Thursday 6 May at 9.30pm. Inspired by growing concerns such as freedom of expression and information censorship – the collection will illustrate that “Fashion shouldn’t just be another opiate for the masses”. We can’t wait to see it!

Sportsgirl just keep the amazing collaborations coming! They have just launched their latest ‘likes’ collection with Melbourne designer Alpha60, and are launching a range next month with uber-cool Ellery.

The exclusive 9-piece Alpha60 range is inspired by Marchesa Luisa Casati, a now forgotten but notorious early 20th Century celeb, featuring a playful mix of luxurious fabrics and prints with t-shirts, jackets and mini-dresses. While the Ellery range is rock-infused with sharp tailoring and tones of nude, soft pink and charcoal offset against leopard print.
