Sorry for being a bit slack with the blog of late. I have been slightly distracted by all the new season collections. Oh! There is so much deliciousness around! Here are my picks …
Maurie & Eve. Available at David Jones, QueensPlaza
Sass & Bide, QueensPlaza
Brisbane has been blessed with a perfect summer this year. And it keeps get warming and I can’t stop dreaming of being in the ocean. And thanks to all the beautiful swimwear available by our amazing Australian designers I want to be at the beach even more! Here are my favourite looks and inspiration …
Angle Diamond Dot’s inspiration wall – dreaming of the ocean too!
bleached blonde locks, white shirts, denim shorts & floral dresses … summer is on its way & our friends at stylestalker have come up with the goods yet again! Offering key looks that can take you from poolside to bar, snap them up now ladies before they sell out. Head to Little Lace at Elizabeth Arcade, David Jones at QueensPlaza and Don’t Tell Fannie at West End.
This gloomy weather has made me yearn for spring and summer to arrive even more, and these amazingly styled shots for Sass & Bide eyewear (modelled by some familiar faces!) have further heightened my anticipation. Tanned skin, singlets, smiles, sunkissed hair, and super cool sunglasses … that’s what summer is all about. And if you haven’t heard already – Sass & Bide are opening their first ever store in Brisbane City next week at QueensPlaza – spring/summer here we come!
… spring is on its way. It’s my favourite time of the year as it feels like the world starts to wake up again after months of hibernation. And there are so many exciting things going on in Brisbane that you don’t really have an excuse not to get out. Here’s what’s on my list for the next week.
Molten Store – I mentioned it in my last post but I have to mention it again as this store is so damn gorgeous! I want everything. Get shopping!
oh hello – I know it’s not technically ‘fashion’, but I can’t help but mention this new bar that is opening in the Valley tonight. Owned by one of my lovely friends, I’m super excited to check out the new venue that was previously home to old faithful, the Monestry. I can already see this place being my new favourite haunt.
Threadbare – Another online boutique owned by some Brisbane locals. It looks like it’s going to be amazing! Designers that will be on offer include Ellery, Josh Goot and Gala Curious. Stay tuned for more details and the launch date …
Ellery Pop Up Sale – And speaking of Ellery … tomorrow and over the weekend head to The Cottage at 67 James St in the Valley for items from the Ellery archive, runway samples, as well as rare highly covetable pieces from past seasons. All at a smidgen of their former price. Yay!
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane – I’ll post more about this soon. But if you haven’t already, make sure you purchase your tickets to what will be another great week of local and national fashion in Brisbane, kicking off on 20 August.
Zimmermann – Why oh why do you do this to me? I may have just spent way too much money on their new collection. And I may have bought the mustard leather skirt. But can you really blame me? Check out the collection at the QueensPlaza store today, if you dare.
Just thought I’d give you an update on all the goings on in The City, as a lot has been happening! If you haven’t heard already, Chanel will be opening very soon at QueensPlaza, this is the first Chanel store to open in Queensland and we are so excited! Also at QueensPlaza, a bigger and brighter Mimco store recently opened, an updated Mecca Cosmetica is opening soon, Australia’s largest Witchery, including womens, mens and childrenswear will open in the coming month, and one of our faves, Sass and Bide, is opening a flagship boutique! Apartment recently reopened on Charlotte Street, The Bunker Boutique moved from Camp Hill into The City on George Street a few weeks ago, and Zomp is opening soon (shoes!). Like we said, a lot is going on, so make sure you get out there and check it out soon! Visit www.bnecity.com.au for more info and to keep up-to-date.
Another first for Brisbane! QueensPlaza will soon welcome none other than everyone’s favourite French designer – Chanel. The store will be the fifth Chanel boutique in Australia and is expected to open in a few months time. Stay tuned for details … but in the meantime make sure you check out the amazing Chanel website and be utterly inspired. Better start planning your purchases! www.chanel.com

We’ll be back on Wednesday with more fashion goodness xx
It can often be hard to find good shoes in Brisbane that aren’t overally massed produced. But it will soon be made a little easier when PeepToe opens their first Queensland store at QueensPlaza in the City. The Australian label are well known for a large range of wearable footwear, offering everything from flats to towering ankle boots. And don’t be confused to think that PeepToe shoes are like many of the other shoe stores around – all their shoes and accessories are actually handmade, and leathers are individually selected and custom dyed. They have some pretty cool styles for winter too. The store is due to open at QueensPlaza at the end of April 2011.
