beau coops in-store now at violent green

Posted in Autumn Winter 2010, Elizabeth Arcade by brisbane on May 24, 2010

If you are ever after accessories that are different from the norm, than may we suggest you make a visit to Violent Green at Elizabeth Arcade. This great boutique has been around for years now and never disappoints with its fashion-forward clothing labels on offer such as Chronicles of Never, Ksubi and Karen Walker, but you may be surprised by the large range of jewellery, shoes and handbags on offer as well from designers such as Melissa, Jordy, Beat Poet and of course Beau Coops.

We bring your attention to Beau Coops because it really stands out as a shoe label that offers a unique take on women’s and men’s shoes that you won’t find at many stores in Brisbane. Designed by Londoner Carrie Cooper, who has designed for Alexander McQueen, Beau Coops shoes are made in Italy and represent a lifestyle of comfort, quality and style. They are designed to weather the storms of fashion fads – and that’s why we love them!

Check out the Violent Green blog for comprehensive updates on what styles are available in-store – www.violentgreen.blogspot.com

chanel inspired

Posted in Broadway on the Mall, Elizabeth Arcade, Inspiration, QueensPlaza by brisbane on December 16, 2009

The Queen Street Mall has gone a bit crazy for Coco Chanel lately.  QueensPlaza held the ‘Three Weeks with Coco Chanel’ photographic exhibition throughout November and December (finished on Sunday), and last week the Queen Street Mall treated customers with an encore screening of Coco Avant Chanel at The Regent Cinema.

So in keeping with the trend we thought we’d put together some looks inspired by some of Coco Chanel’s greatest quotes …

“A woman is closest to being naked when she is well dressed.”

Gary Bigeni Carla dress, $465, from Bessie Head, Broadway on the Mall

“Fashion fades, only style remains the same”

Sportsgirl top, $40, from Sportsgirl, Queen Adelaide Building

“Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury.”

Sass & Bide ‘Hurts so good’ dress, $390 from David Jones, QueensPlaza

“Fashion is architecture: it is a matter of proportions.”

Stolen Girlfriends Club jacket, from Violent Green, Elizabeth Arcade

“The best color in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you!”

Something Else dress, $129.95, from General Pants, Albert Street
